As part of the St George’s Church 200 years celebration, we have chosen to honour an act dear to our hearts and which has had an influence on so many local artists.

This is an evening in celebration of Duluth’s (Minnesota) finest slo-core artists, who when on tour made St George’s Church their venue in Brighton to perform in.

The night will feature many talented Brighton Artists who Melting Vinyl & St George’s have had the pleasure of working with in the recent past; from the soaring glory of Night House and Bella Spinks and the chamber pop of David Bramwell’s: Oddfellows Casino, to the introspective sounds of M Butterfly, amongst others.

The night will be part standing and partly seated with an ‘in a round’ feel, the space being utlised unlike any previous performance at the church. This promises to be a very special, magical night to remember, as we shake off the last ambers of winter and welcome in the spring.

Featuring:

Night House blend electronic beats, orchestral arrangements and lyric-driven songwriting, drawing from a wide range of influences.

Bella Spinks is a wonderful musician, composer, choir leader, mother and human being.

David Bramwell’s: Oddfellows Casino, Oddfellow’s Casino blends pastoral folktronica and psychedelia with classic English pop – ‘an English Sufjan Stevens’ (Sunday Times).

M Butterfly offers introspective and very sad Americana songs, and plays them very slowly.

Seadog – a Brighton-based project of musicians Mark Benton and Tom Chadd along with their eclectic troupe of performers. They create dream-pop songs combining a variety of influences into a myriad sound of lullabies with anthemic electric and acoustic samples and textures.

Van Coeur – a band created by members of really excellent local acts. Together, they play beautiful mood-enhancing drone-laden doom-folk-rock.

Noah York comes from a rich musical heritage. Noah draws from this and combines it with his own creativity; the music takes the form of hypnotic soaring vocals and sounds.

Route 500 is the musical world of Derek Inver – observational lyrics, compelling vocals and dissociative recollections make up their dynamic, lo-fi sound.

Kristin McClement is a singer and a songwriter. She plays guitar and piano and is part of the Willkommen Collective, an independent music label based in Brighton.
“Her album, The Wild Grips, is an extraordinary collection of mournful yet beautifully crafted and poetic songs, with McClement’s deep resonant voice dominant throughout.” Brighton Music Blog
