Pop, post-punk, minimal synth, kraut, dub - eat-girls is a three-piece band from France, carefully crafting songs in their apartment. Their songs work through their train of thought and, akin to a dream, paint obsessing and intriguing shapes.
On stage, Amélie, Elisa and Maxence use their three voices, bass, guitar, synths, computer and various objects to revamp their produced material.

Brighton’s ism can be anything and everything; the three-piece change their theme for every gig they do, transforming each concert into a new world of art and captivating performance. Dynamic, bold art-rock, art-pop - these three are genre fluid, indie, playful, colourful, raw, powerful, female fronted and engaging.

New show: 📢 a summer's night of sparkly indie pop with Lightheaded + Jeanines.

Carrying on the long tradition of sentimental pop songwriters, U.S.'s Lightheaded @lightheadedband distills decades of jangly, lovelorn tunes into sparkling sounds for modern softies. They have the sunshine sparkle of Margo Guryan, the C86 charm of Dolly Mixture, and the cinematic swell of Belle & Sebastian: a simple case of pure pop for now people.

The band have signed to Skep Wax @skepwax records in the UK to release a new EP, Thinking Dreaming Scheming, their most collaborative and earnest release to date. Expect baroque pop that feels warm and dusty and adding to all the fun are the cameos and contributions from the new generation of New York indie pop goodness.

Jeanines @jeaninesnyc - Alicia Jeanine and Jed Smith - have charted a distinctive course through the history of pop, evoking influences as varied as the 60s folk of early Fairport Convention and Vashti Bunyan, the sunshine pop of Margo Guryan and the post-Black Tambourine projects of Pam Berry.
Their new album, "How Long Can It Last," finds Jeanines combining richly melodic tunes with crisp arrangements and melodies and harmonies which are simply heavenly, elevating these economical songs to give each the feeling of a lost classic.

Bella Spinks @bellaspinks is an established solo artist and tonight she combines her solo work with another passion; @voca.choir the 40+ person choir she leads every week in Brighton.

Enjoy what promises to be a very special evening: the reimagining of some of Bella’s work in vocal form, with the intimacy of her songwriting and storytelling against the choirs powerful sound.

Multi disciplinary artist Danielle Fricke @daniellefricke creates hyper-vulnerable and intimate performances with a mixture of her haunting songs and improvised layered vocal meditations.

Amazing, original and danceable Afro Beats...

Gasper Nali is a not-so-traditional babatoni player from the small town of Nkhata Bay on the shores of Lake Malawi.

The babatoni is an African one-string home-made 3-metre long bass guitar, and with a stick and an empty beer bottle, together with a cow skin kick drum and catchy melodies, he creates the most amazing and danceable original Afro Beats possible.

Gasper’s unique style of Kwela music has received an extraordinary amount of online attention after a video of him playing by the lake shore went viral with over 20 million views. He has been featured by CNN and in the documentary ‘Deep Roots Malawi’, jammed with Joss Stone, appeared on Wired for Sound – Malawi, remixed by Aroop Roy for Sol Power Sounds and has been played by Iggy Pop on 6Music.

His debut album, Abale Ndikuwuzeni, roughly translates to ‘People, I Want To Tell you’. It is a fitting title as Gasper’s songs, all sung in the Malawi national language of Chichewa, talk about life and strife in the country, often including social issues such as the rich and the poor, child marriages etc.

Gasper has toured the UK and Europe several times since his breakthrough video, playing in all environments from seated arts centres spaces to major festival stages. This year, Gasper will be transforming his customary one-man-band show and perform with a 3-piece band for the very first time in the UK. Along for the ride is Malawi born songsmith and cultural proponent Luhangah on additional vocals and percussion, as well as Gasper’s long-time producer and collaborator Mattias Stålnacke on guitars.

Gasper will also release his new record “Chule Chule Iwe” to coincide with a UK tour in May/June of 2025.

New show announcement 📣

Oyama @oyamaband - a five-piece shoegaze/indie collective from Reykjavík - plus special guests play The Prince Albert, Brighton @theprincealbertbrighton on Tuesday 30th September.

Oyama is a five-piece shoegaze/indie collective from Reykjavík who has just released their second full-length album Everyone Left, which finds Oyama strikes a balance between elusive reality and tangible dreams.

Their new album has a contemplative vibe and shares thematic threads with its predecessor; their idiosyncratic songwriting earning recognition from leading music media. As KEXP's Jim Beckmann noted, "Sharing a name with the relatively small Japanese central city, [the band] has grown into a sonic metropolis of multiple influences, from psychedelic to ambient."

Featuring guitarist Alison MacNeil from cult Icelandic-Canadian math rock unit Kimono, Oyama creates a sound that combines a steady urban pulse with serenity, and with guitar delay causing ripples on the sonic pond, their sound is truly immersive.
Tracks were recorded at Sundlaugin studio of Sigur Rós and mixed by Árni Hjörvar Árnason (The Vaccines).
